My name is Jessie Lehrbaum and I am a senior at the University of Tampa studying writing. This blog was created for a multimedia journalism course where I learned and successfully completed the following things:
- Maintain a journalism-themed WordPress blog that includes reflections on industry trends
- Experience live-blogging an event with news updates and multimedia
- Knowledge of Storify platform for curation of crowdsourced content of a news topic
- Familiar with a variety social media platforms and tools
- Ability to create interactive maps from spreadsheets
- Experience with mobile journalism, covering events using multimedia and social media via smartphone
- Experience with capturing and editing audio, photos and video
- Experience with independently finding sources, conducting interviews, doing research and planning coverage for multimedia narrative
It is now used as a portfolio for my work in Multimedia Journalism as well as Beginning Digital Arts.
